Mayor Proclaims February 9 – 10 Winterfest Weekend
Mayor Mark Nexsen as officially proclaimed Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 9-10, as Winterfest Weekend in Lake Havasu City. Winterfest is produced by the Lake Havasu Area Chamber of Commerce; 2008 marks the event’s 23rd year. The event is held in the city’s uptown Main Street district on McCulloch Boulevard from Smoketree Avenue to Acoma Boulevard. For the first time ever, this year’s event will also feature vendor booths and activities on both Scott Drive and Mulberry Street from McCulloch Boulevard to Swanson Avenue.
Winterfest will features 450 booths featuring the products, services, arts, crafts and delicious foods of more than 275 vendors and organizations, from across and the country and from right here in Lake Havasu City. Winterfest runs from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. on Feb. 9 and from
10 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Feb. 10.
Additionally, there will be live entertainment on the Pearl Bailey Showmobile at Pima Wash all day both days, including the 5th Annual Havasu Idol competition.
Other new additions this year include a handicap parking area just behind Wings Loop; and complimentary transportation on the City Transit HAT busses to the event on Saturday from any bus stop in the city.
Winterfest sponsors include the Lake Havasu City Convention and Visitors Bureau and City Center Entertainment in cooperation with many of the city government departments.
