2008 Winterfest Will be Bigger and Better Than Ever

The 23rd Annual Winterfest is set to be bigger and better than ever this year, as the Lake Havasu Area Chamber of Commerce staff works diligently to add to the event each year.
This year’s event takes place Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 9 and 10. A ribbon cutting, color guard ceremony from the VFW and singing of the National Anthem by the Colomonde Chorus will kick off the event at 10 a.m. Saturday morning. Nonstop entertainment will then run until 5 pm.
Comeback Buddy is returning for the third year as one of the headlining groups. One of the most popular groups at Winterfest, Comeback Buddy specializes in the music of Buddy Holly as well as Ricky Nelson, Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Chuck Berry, Roy Orbison, Patsy Cline and many other artists from the 50's.
Another returning act is Andean Nation, a trio playing various instruments of the Andes, such as pan flutes, various stringed instruments and more. They will be performing throughout the two day event.
A new act this year is Dearly Beloved, a local group of talented young musicians from Lake Havasu City. The group’s acoustic guitars make for a unique and well liked sound that crosses generational lines.
While guests are enjoying the music throughout the festival, they can also browse the more than 275 vendors selling everything from exotic jewelry to art, clothing and more. A diverse food court will satisfy the largest of appetites and whet the deepest of thirsts.
Of course there will be a diverse kids area with pony rides, train rides, a rock wall and more. And for the husbands who think this may not be their cup of tea, there will be a section devoted solely to off road motor sports.
Few events have so much in one area, which would explain the immense popularity of Winterfest. Join 40,000 of your closest friends and head to Lake Havasu City February 9 and 10.
